Heavenly is for sure not the resort for very steep skiing but I have to say that this is probably one of the best resorts for high-speed tree skiing. The wide open trees are everywhere. I think there’s no single run where you can’t go into the trees on both sides. On the very left side (Mott and Killebrew Canyon) you can find some steep stuff. This could keep you busy for some hours. We are not talking about endless vertical and the only chair to bring you back to the start of the double blacks is rather slow.

Let’s forget once about real steep tree skiing like at Red Mountain. For sure this resort is great and on a powder day it will be like a dream for tree skiing fans. Some more expert terrain would be great.

Killebrew Canyon: Steep and some very steep cliffs. Each time you have to use the Mott Canyon and the Dipper Express Chair to get there again. The only negative thing about this canyon is the long traverse into the canyon and even worse the way out. No hiking but for snowboarders who don’t like the traversing it’s not a good idea to go there. For me it is the best skiing at Heavenly.

Accomodation

Lots of motels and stuff in heavenly. From $$ to $$$$.

Food

If you like sushi there’s an “all you can eat” place but I can’t recall the name. Drive from Heavenly toward Sierra at Tahoe. After a few minutes on your left.
