Not the biggest, not the steepest but on a mid-week powder day the place to be. Not busy at all and off the Grand View chair you will enjoy some really great tree skiing. Some backcountry stuff is now within the area boundary but I don’t know how it is. I skied there for many days but with incredible amounts of fresh snow every single day this part remained closed for most of the time. For sure a great family resort especially for beginner to advanced skier and boarder. 2 high-speed chairs provide access to most of the good stuff.

Accomodation

  • No on-hill accommodation. Stay in Heavenly / South Lake Tahoe, which has good value motels and gives you the possibility to drive to other resorts.
  • North Lake Tahoe: Lots of motels and other places to stay. Busy on weekends and peak season.

Tip

  • Avoid weekends—a zoo with 20min + lines are common and not worth it. Go to Kirkwood or Alpine Meadows instead.
  • Chains or 4×4 will be required and enforced during and right after a snowstorm
  • Heavy snow could result in a closed road from or to the resort. Might be worth it to have some extra stuff in our car in case of extended closures due to avalanche control work.

Discounted Tickets

  • Sport shops in Heavenly not at resort.
  • Great value season pass.
  • Great value Double Whammy season pass for Sierra and Northstar at Tahoe.
