Another great Mountain. U$82 lift ticket!! (2008). It is not very big but has great vertical and so many double black runs. There are only 3 high-speed quads and some slow ones but that’s good enough.

Deep Temerity Chair has only double black runs and they are all steep with no flat spot on the way down. The traverse back is short. This will keep you busy for quite some time. On the other side Olympic Bowl is great too but after the double black run you always have to take a long traverse. If you take runs like No Name or Deception it’s a real pain to get back especially with the sticky spring snow I had to deal with. Mid winter this won’t be as bad but still a lot of traversing.

To hike the bowl you can take a snow cat for the first part followed by a long hike at 12,000 feet. Quite busy on the way up and for sure some guys should consider not going up there. Some “big” guys went up there breathing like they were going to die soon and on top they looked like they have been in hell. Should have taken some pics…

Overall I would ski this resort anytime again.

Tip

  • Leave your car at Buttermilk for free; otherwise parking is U$ 10. Weekends are free. Be early and you can leave your car very close to the gondola.
