A very nice resort between Kicking Horse and Fernie. Kimberly is on the way as well. Not the biggest and not the steepest but with the newly built high-speed quads well worth a day or two of skiing. As long as 100% of the mountain is open advanced and experts will find enough double black runs. A few years ago they opened the former heliskiing terrain called Taynton Bowl for public skiing. Easy hiking access (1-25min) with a hundred different ways down. A very long cat track will bring you back to the base. If you like hot tubs this place is fantastic. If you stay at the resort all the huge hot tubs are included.

Accomodation

Depending on the time of the season affordable SkiIn/SkiOut. Ask for a last-minute deal. Sometimes you can find them online as well.

Tip

  • If you intend to stay at the resort you can arrive around lunch time and book accommodation at central reservation. You can get packages that usually include free afternoon skiing on the day of arrival.
  • Panorama is also called IcoRama. No new snows for some time combined with warm temperatures are the reason for it. Stay away if you intend to ski good snow and especially if you like off piste skiing. It will be a nightmare.
  • If Taynton Bowl and the Extreme Zone are closed the snow base might be too poor to keep advanced to experts busy.

Discounted Tickets

Hotels and motels have them at times.

Food

Lots of self-contained apartments. Get your groceries while you are still in the valley (e.g., Invermere) as food supply on the mountain is limited. Several nice restaurants on the mountain. All within walking distance. RK Heli Base includes a restaurant that is well worth a visit for lunch or dinner.
