I really like this resort. There are so many double-back diamond runs that will keep you busy for days. High-speed chairs and some tree skiing. Beginner and intermediate will find enough good stuff too, and therefore, this mountain is recommended for any kind of skier and boarder.

Lift lines: Usually between 10 and 11 a.m., the Gulch chair gets a little bit busy, with lines up to 5 min, but after that it’s quiet. The runs are generally steep to very steep, and this helps to keep the area reserved for the advanced skiers and boarders. Au contraire on the Comet Express. Best for beginner and intermediate, it’s a busy area, and lines are 5+ min (it was Saturday – no idea how it looks on a weekday),

Update 2008

Big White and Silver Star now on one ticket, although a 2h drive in between, and they have some new runs and a new high-speed quad

Accomodation

Putman Station Hotel is also takes care of several other units. We stayed at Creekside condos, which are SkiIn/SkiOut. Very nice units and great access to the resort.

Tip

  • If you stay at Silver Star for a few days, don’t miss a day trip to Big White. Shuttle service is available.
  • Again, if you are staying in a self-contained condo, don’t forget to get your groceries before you drive to the resort. Very limited food is available.
