You never heard about it? Well then maybe you know the movie „007 On her Majesty’s Secret Service“ This is the mountain where Mr. 007 skied and you can do that was well.

It was the first time for me and some other guys of our group. The weather forecast was not too promising but also changing every few hours so there was at least hope. At the end we where pretty lucky. Almost bluebird for the first few hours then cloudy and some poor visibility at times but overall a great day. The view is simply spectacular and breathtaking.

The resort itself is linked with “Kleine Scheidegg-Männlichen” and “First” but we had only one day and therefore spend all day in the Murren-Schilthorn area. On a powderday this will keep you busy all day and there is no need to go elsewhere. If you like to spend your time only on groomers it is for sure still big enough and with all the linked resorts you might wonna stay a week to ski it all.

The resort has several trams as well as numerous chairs from slow doubles to mainly high speed quads incl. a new one which opened this weekend for the very first time. As it was early in the season there was zero competition and zero lines all day long. Some off piste areas had not enough snow yet but the potential was very easy to spot and for me there is only one verdict “awesome”. I will have to go back and check some of the steeper areas as soon as there is more snow. Even now with the current snow pack of 40-70cm it was already very good off piste and we did not hit too many rocks. On the groomers it was absolutely perfect with no rocks at all.

This is the official version on the website and I can only confirm this:

“Steep slopes, long downhill runs, a modern transport system, cosy locales and a breathtaking panorama: Mürren – Schilthorn, the highest-altitude ski region in the Bernese Oberland with the best view of Eiger, Mönch & Jungfrau, offers everything winter-sports addicts could possibly desire!”
