Beginner, intermediate, and advanced skiers will have many option to have fun for a day or two. Experts might be bored quite soon if conditions are not good. With fresh powder or at least good snow to ski off piste, everybody will be happy for sure. The resort is heavily affected in case of strong winds, and this could result in most chairs being closed. There is some tree skiing, but runs are short and you have to ski back to the base each time.

This description is based on two days of skiing at the resort. I quite like the resort and would go back any time.

Accomodation

We stayed about 6km outside the resort. This is a great place to stay, not expensive, with restaurants, a hostel etc. I would not stay in Chillan as the drive of 80km is too long. Condo for 4-6 with fireplace, kitchen, parking at the door, very friendly owner.

Tip

4WD and good tires are recommended. The access road (last 5km) is a nightmare in case of fresh snow. If you don’t have chains, don’t worry. You can rent them on the way up the mountain. About $10 for the day. They take care of everything. Don’t drive fast with chains; you will need them downhill and there is nobody to help if they fall apart, and that happens a lot.
