Skiing at Cortina today was like visiting an old friend you haven’t seen in a while. It was instant joy. There was no wasting time getting to know one another. We dove in as soon as Chair 4 opened and Cortina delivered as it usually does. The storm last night deposited more than 20 cm of blower powder and there were face shots to be had. A crust lurked underneath the pow in some areas, but skiing light and fast on northerly aspects was super fun.

After Chair 5 opened, the lift lines emptied and we skied onto the lifts for the rest of the day. The sun was shining all morning, and by late morning it was spring skiing on the southerly aspects, giving our thighs some serious burn. But, by mid-afternoon clouds had rolled in and it started snowing again. Hooray! Tomorrow may be another great day at Cortina.
